can't boot from usb - so using 'UNetbootin'
basic overview of problem:

**goal:** trying to install a new linux os (any working one is fine)
**key problem:** the laptop does not boot from usb

**laptop** = lenovo u310 (none of the reset / bios methods work)
**os** = mint 18.1 (completely dysfunctional, crashes and freeze randomly like a min after booting the os)

---

---

on 'GNU GRUB' version 2.02~'

it has the option 'UNetbootin'

when i select this and press enter

---

it shows a black screen, black screen says:

> running early hook [udev]
>starting version 232

other things

then

>mounting 'dev/disk/by-label/' to 'run/miso/bootmnt'

then stuff

> ERROR: '/deve/disk/by-label/' device did not show up after 30 secondds...'

> Falling back to interactive prompt
>You can try to fix the problem manually, log out when you are finished

> sh: can't access tty; job control turned off

>[rootfs ]#
